Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a vibrational healing experience that incorporates sound to gently invite restorative processes, encourage deeper states of rest, and facilitate relaxation in the mind and body.

What can I expect during my first sound bath?

Participants can begin laying down or sitting in a comfortable position of their choice, often with a yoga mat or blanket.

After a few minutes of guided breath exercises, the experience features various sounds introduced in succession. Instruments can include chimes, bells, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, and voice, among other tools.

What are the benefits of sound baths?

Participants can benefit by experiencing deeper states of consciousness, greater sense of calm, reduced stress-levels, increased energy and well-being, better sleep, and improved mood.

How should I prepare?

Before a sound bath
Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes if possible. You can bring a pillow, blanket, bolster, and/or eye mask to help you relax.

During
Focus on your inner world and let go of any distractions whenever they arise. Take slow, deep breaths and allow yourself to listen carefully as sounds are introduced.

After
Take time to reflect on the experience and how it made you feel. Keep in touch if you’d like to work with me again!

What is your pricing and how can I book with you?

I enjoy creating experiences that are tailored to my clients’ goals.

Upon sending me an email with your sound bath request, I can provide a quote for your next sound bath. Pricing may vary based on the number of participants, desired session length, and location.

Session lengths include 60 minutes (in-person and virtual). I plan to offer longer sessions in the future!

How did you learn to do this?

I LOVE to sing! Singing in my school choir and learning from my maternal grandparents, who were both vocalists in Atlanta, were my first lessons in sound. I consider my voice the primary instrument in everything I do as a sound healer, curator, and writer.

In 2018, I purchased my first sound bowl and explored other instruments throughout the global pandemic. My practice is deeply informed by my studies of ancient African healing modalities during graduate school and beyond.

I hold a Sound Therapies certificate from the Meditate: School of Mindfulness & Sound, and remain committed to nurturing my professional practice while helping others achieve the benefits of sound baths.
