The Next Generation and the New Mayor

*All times ET.

Hosted by Villa Albertine, the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and the Consulate General of France in Atlanta

In 2021, Jasmine Wilson was selected as a Research Fellow by the Association of Historians of American Art. In a virtual presentation, Jasmine will discuss her Master’s thesis project, “The African Symbolism of Simone Leigh’s Brick House Sculpture”

Her respondent for this conversation is Dr. Steven Nelson, Dean of the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Where are we going? Who better to ask this question to than the next generation? And who better to listen to their answers than the new Mayor of Atlanta?

Six students from local colleges and universities and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens will give us their version of the future and kick off the Night of Ideas.
